The Christ Statue " Corcovado " is a must do while you are in Rio. The statue is perched on a mountain top about 30 minutes drive from Copacabana. I recommend you take a taxi or tour guide to the site then take the train up. It costs about R$20.00 a person. The train ride itself is alot of fun as it spirals around the lush and steep mountainside. The views are breathtaking and inspiring. After visiting this landmark you will know why they call Rio de Janeiro, " The Marvelous City ".
Sugar Loaf Mountain " Pao de Acucar " is located in a quiet town called Urca which is about a 15 minute ride from Copacabana. They have cable cars that take you up. The ride in the cable cars is alot of fun and the views from the top are awesome. There are nicely manicured paths to walk on and there is a nice restaurant on top with views of the bay. The quaint town of Urca that sits at the base of the mountain is a great place for quiet walks and there are a few nice places to grab lunch or a drink.

Copacabana Beach stretches for about 2 miles and is the epicenter of leisure and activity in Rio. On a nice day you will see thousands of people herd on this famous strip of beach to play soccer, volleyball, swim, body surf and socialize. From here you will really appreciate Carioca culture and why Brazilians are famed around the world as the most beautiful people. The sidewalk lining the beach is designed with black and white stones which form the famous undulating mosaic of Copacabana sidewalks.

Maracana If you like football then you can't miss the opportunity to see Brazilian Soccer in the World's Largest Soccer Stadium. Maracana holds over 100,000 people and has hosted many championship games. It is due to host the World Cup Final in 2014 and will be the centerpiece of the 2016 Summer Olympics. Definitely an unforgettable Brazilian experience.

Buzios is a nice getaway from Copacabana & Ipanema with magnificent beaches and crystal clear waters. There is a quaint center of town where you will find shopping and nightlife. Approximately 100 miles from Rio de Janeiro with a distinct slower pace and Caribbean feel. Great way to get out of the city for a few days and experience another part of Rio. Ask about one of our drivers taking you there.

Arpoador Rocks I love this place! Right in between Copacabana and Ipanema is a small neighborhood called Arpoador. There is a natural peninsula formation with huge boulders jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean. Walk there from your apartment and enjoy the paths and gorgeous views of Ipanema Beach.

Barra da Tijuca is Rio's hottest new upscale neighborhood known to be the residence of many rich and famous people. The beach in Barra is gorgeous with white sand and turquoise waters. You will find a lot of beautiful people here sun bathing, kite surfing and body boarding. There are lots of great stores at Barra Shopping, and upscale clubs and restaurants. Barra is about a 30 minute drive from Ipanema and you can get here by bus or car. Great day trip!
